Akumal is a well-known beach in the Riviera Maya for its beauty, calm water and turtles. The environment has been changing within the last few years, coral reef is dying, pollution coming from the surroundings, turtles getting sick with a type of cancer. The volunteers of Project Baseline: Akumal know that it is important to document what's happening and share our observations with the public.

There are two ways to submit data to the Project Baseline database. You can submit data for existing projects, and you can submit data for projects that are not currently hosted (ad-hoc) in the database.
