Introduction: The Domain of Political Science. Social science fields of study usually have several sub-disciplines or branches, and the distinguishing lines between these are often both arbitrary and ambiguous. Writing skills are essential for political scientists, because they often write research papers. For example, biological psychology is considered a natural science with a social scientific application (as is clinical medicine ), social and occupational psychology are, generally speaking, purely social sciences, whereas neuropsychology is a natural science that lacks application out of the scientific tradition entirely.
